What is the Best Way to Ship from China to the United States?

1, Product and Load: different products need different ways to ship the cargo, but always DG cargo like batteries need full documents which suppliers are hard to get all,.If suppliers have full documents, we can help to ship by sea or air without any problem as we get the rights to do that. as a China freight forwarder in China, Hola intl logistics have sent a lot of scooter, electronic bicycle, etc, all of them have batteries include, more and more products like unmanned aerial vehicle, speaker, lights include batteries, also like eletric cars.

2, Destination: United States is vast in territory, except in the United States west coast and united states east coast, there are IPI and RIPI destination we can choose, but no matter you cargoes need to be sent to office or warehouse in the  United States, we have many ways to help which can save your cost that you can focus in your products and get more profit.

3, Timing Requirements: If cargo is needed urgently, there is no faster way than shipping by air. For some containerized shipments going by sea, the transport time could be reduced by shipping to the West Coast, as opposed to the East Coast, and then fulfilled from truck or rail once the cargo arrives in America.

If timie is not a priority, shipping by ocean freight to a popular port close to the final destination, and trucking the final leg of the journey is most likely the least expensive option.  We are committed to maintaining ultra-efficient communications and simplification of the process for your ultimate convenience.

Shipping from China to USA: What ways can you ship with?

There are various methods you can rely on for shipments from China to the United States. Here are the most common ways for you as below,

FCL and LCL shipping by Sealine ship from China to USA.

● You can transport your goods by both FCL and LCL shipping.

● There are many factors you need to consider when shipping from China to the US.

● A standard 40 foot container can accommodate 22 standard pallets, with a 20 foot container holding 10 pallets.

● If you’re shipping large volumes and can fill a container, it makes sense to choose FCL (Full Container Load).

● The other advantage of Full container load is that your items are kept separate from other importers.

● On the other hand, LCL (Less than a Container Load) refers to shipping where your goods share space within a container with other goods.

● If you’re OK with that, then LCL shipping (also known as groupage) offers a more economical way to ship smaller quantities that make up less than half of the volume of a full container.

Considerations for LCL Freight Shipping

● Choosing LCL means your goods will share space with goods from other companies who send cargo from same PORTS OF LOADING to same PORT OF DISCHARGE.

● This also means that your delivery mayn take a bit longer, because of both the packing and unpacking process in our warehouse.

● Before departure, your goods will be stored in a consolidation warehouse. In China our warehouse until departure, and then on arrival be held in Hola intl logistics de-consolidation warehouse in the US before they are delivered to your address.

Considerations for FCL Freight Shipping

● FCL shipping means using an entire container for your shipment by sea lines, like COSCO, EVERGREEN, MAERSK, HAPPA-LLOYD, CMA, etc.

● If you have more than 20cbm cargo to occupy a container, or even most of a container, FCL shipping may make the most economical sense, there are standard container like 20 feet container, 40 feet container, 40 high cube feet container.

● It's also quicker than LCL shipping as there is no need to consolidate or deconsolidate your items from others, cargoes will go directly from POL to POD and then deliveried to your address after customs clearance.

● Your container will also remain sealed throughout the journey unless customs officials select it for inspection will be sealed until it arrives at your address or chosen destination.

So, what are the advantages that you will get when you go for FCL shipping?

● It is easier to track FCL directly through the shipping company’s website. by this way, you can know easily its arrival with accuracy.

● Under FCL, your items will be safer. FCL means that your items will not be mixed with other companies' shipments. There will be less risk of your cargo being damaged or getting lost since fewer people will be handling it, and won't face the problem about the customs check.

● FCL can be processed faster because your shipment will be the only one that will be loaded into a container. Under LCL, the shipment will be consolidated with others first.

● As mentioned, FCL is cheaper when the cost is broken down per unit if you cargo fullfill in a container.

● These are the advantages of FCL shipping but remember that LCL is better when you are shipment is a small one. As your business progresses and your shipment grows bigger, then FCL may become the more cost-effective option for you.

How long does shipping from China take?

Average shipping time from China to United States.

As you may expect, the time ship a shipment from China how long takes is dependent on which way you choose, Sea or Air or Express.

Tips to Save Time and Money When Shipping From China to the USA

Here are a few tips that you can use in order to save time and money when you ship cargoes from China to the United States:

Know Chinese Holidays

This is such an easy thing to do but a lot of importers forget to check this. Aside from the fact that most companies are closed during this time, there is also port congestion then, since many merchants want to ship their cargo as soon as possible.

Not being aware of  Chinese holidays can cause a delay in your shipment.

Pick Experienced Companies: Hola intl logistics

Picking a Chinese company that you will work with can be tricky if you are just starting to import. Working with experienced suppliers and freight forwarders is one way that you can guarantee to minimize the problems which you might face. Hola intl logistics have experience over 10years, we have FMC licences: 029329 and we are golden members of Jctrans which is biggest freight forwarder network in China.

Completing Clearance Paperwork

One of the things that can cause delay upon the arrival of your shipment is the failure to complete the clearance paperwork correctly. Your shipment is going to be stopped at customs if the paperwork is not complete or if there are missing details.

Most of the time, errors are honest mistakes. But there are also times when some suppliers will make intentional errors with the aim of making more money.

Make sure that you contact a supplier that has worked with clients in the United States before. There are ways that you can find that out.

Get Documents Ready

Make sure that all your documents for the shipment are ready even before it arrives. One of the most important documents that you need would be the International Security Filing or ISF.

Keep in mind that shippers will file the ISF even if they don’t have all the info about a shipment. They usually do this even before the cargo is loaded into a ship.

Now, you can make changes to the ISF before your shipment reaches its port of destination.

Remember that if your shipment arrives without an ISF, or if it is filled with incorrect information, then you could be fined. The fine could be as high as $5,000. Other documents that will be needed in order to get the shipment through customs are:

  • Entry or Immediate Delivery Form

  • Bill of Lading

  • Certificate of Origins Commercial Invoice

  • Packing List

If you are shipping your cargo via sea freight, then you should have enough time to prepare all of these documents.
